June 20, 2025 โ Congressman Dale B. Corvera led the launch of the Provincial Chess Tournament today at the Buenavista Municipal Gymnasium.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble warmly welcomed the participants and esteemed guests of the event. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting all programs of Cong. Dale B. Corvera and Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, particularly in the development of sports and youth empowerment.
Cong. Dale B. Corvera expressed his appreciation for the strong enthusiasm of chess players in Buenavista. โUnta maka-produce ta ug grandmaster players nga gikan sa Agusan del Norte.โ
Cash incentives were also awarded to the 12 winners of Batang Pinoy 2024 for representing Agusan del Norte.
The two gold medalists received โฑ50,000 each.
Six silver medalists received โฑ10,000 each.
Four bronze medalists received โฑ5,000 each.
Coaches were also awarded โฑ15,000 each.
The 3-day chess tournament begins today in the Municipality of Buenavista, continues on the second day in the Municipality of Jabonga, and concludes with the championship round in the City of Cabadbaran.
The event was attended by Hon. Jenry Montante, Municipal Mayor of Kitcharao; SB Member Angelita D. Cadeliรฑa; ADN Chess Club President Mr. Pascualito O. Gulay; Buenavista Chess Club President Mr. Jerry Paul Lamorin; and other representatives from various municipalities.
