November 6, 2025 β The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Buenavista formally launched the βLakas sa Gatas Campaignβ through a kick-off ceremony held today at the Buenavista Special Education Elementary School (SPED-ES) Multi-Purpose Building.
SGOD Chief Ms. Gloria Siclon emphasized the importance of milk feeding under the theme βTalino at Gilas, Tiyak Lalabas, Panalo ang Batang may Sapat na Gatas.β She shared that milk, together with the nutritious βnutribun,β provides essential nutrients that help improve childrenβs health, awareness, and physical activity.
Meanwhile, Hon. Ronilyn N. Borja, SB Member and Chairperson of the Committee on Education, expressed full support for the national initiative. She also encouraged parents to make milk a regular part of their household groceries, highlighting their key role in ensuring their childrenβs proper nutrition.
Representing Mayor Joselito T. Roble, Atty. Juselle Tricia S. Roble reaffirmed the local governmentβs support for the campaign, noting that a single glass of milk provides nine essential nutrients β including calcium, protein, and various vitamins. She emphasized that milk helps children stay active, healthy, and focused in school, promoting stronger teeth, a healthy heart, and an active brain.
βNalipay ko nga tanan bata ug ginikanan maka-inom sa masustansyang gatas,β she added.
The event was attended by Mr. Edmund Mendoza from the Education Support Services Division (ESSD), selected elementary students from different clusters in Buenavista, along with their parents, teachers, and nutrition officers.
