October 14, 2025 | The Municipality of Buenavista celebrated the Elderly Filipino Week 2025 at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The senior citizens of Buenavista showcased their talents through performances such as Boogie, Kuratsa, Cha-cha-cha, and Budots. One of the highlights of the event was the coronation of Ms. Reina Seniora Queen 2025, which celebrated the seniorsโ€™ timeless beauty and grace.

Mayor Joselito T. Roble expressed his amazement at the outstanding beauty and energy of the senior citizens. In his message, he thanked the Almighty God for granting them good health and long life, and he also commended the unity and active participation of the Senior Citizens Federation.

Mayor Roble gladly announced that the LGU Buenavista has allocated โ‚ฑ2 million for the Age Longevity Award. Seniors aged 85 to 89 will receive โ‚ฑ5,000, those aged 90 to 99 will receive โ‚ฑ10,000, and centenarians will receive โ‚ฑ200,000 from the Province of Agusan del Norte and the National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC).

Meanwhile, NCSC OIC Regional Director Atty. Florence June D. Bantugan personally handed over the NCSC Registration Certificate to the Buenavista Federation of Senior Citizens of the Philippines, the first registered federation in the entire Caraga Region, pursuant to NCSC Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2023, as amended.

A total of 25 Barangay Senior Citizens Association Officers took their oath of office before Municipal Mayor Hon. Joselito T. Roble, with NCSC OIC RD Bantugan administering the oath to the federation officers of Buenavista.
