December 9, 2025 | 49 former rebels, now known as Friends Rescued (FRs), were treated to a simple Christmas party with Mayor Joselito T. Roble at the Jamboree Site, Brgy. Alubijid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.
A total of 61 children aged 5 to 15 years old. The celebration became even more lively as the Mayor distributed cash prizes for games, toys, noche buena packs, and half sacks of rice for the parents.
The Commanding Officer of the 23rd Infantry Battalion, LTC Glennford C. Libre, INF (GSC) PA, expressed his gratitude to the LGU of Buenavista, headed by Mayor Joselito T. Roble, for its continuous support to the AFP and the Friends Rescued. He also wished everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas.
Meanwhile, Mayor Joselito T. Roble expressed his joy in seeing the Friends Rescued during the Masigasig Happy Homes Christmas Party. In his message, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing public safety and sustainable livelihood programs.
He also happily announced that the housing program under OPAPRU is nearing completion. The Mayor encouraged the FRs to settle their cases as soon as possible so they can begin finding decent employment in the future.
Mayor Roble further assured his support for the childrenโs educational needs, such as school supplies and uniforms. In addition, scholarships will be granted to tertiary-level students to give hope to the children and help them achieve success in life.
The event was attended by Executive Assistant BJ Mones, Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Gene Esteban S. Prisco, and Atty. Ramie Duropan.
