June 9, 2025 โ A multi-event was held today at the Barangay Simbalan Covered Court. The ceremonial turnover of a 2-classroom school building, the Kick-off Ceremony Brigada Eskwela, and Kumustahan sa Barangay.
The participating parties included the Province of Agusan del Norte, led by Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante; the Department of Education, represented by Jeanie L. Mativo, PhD, CESO IV, Schools Division Superintendent; and the LGU of Buenavista, led by Mayor Joselito T. Roble.
The project cost for the 2-classroom building was P4,999,654.97, funded by the Province of Agusan del Norte under the leadership of Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante.
The DepEd Caraga Regional Office also donated 90 school-go-bags containing emergency and school supplies. Additionally, SB Eduardo P. Makiling donated 50 pails for water, as well as cash and paint materials sourced from China Bank, City Savings Bank, and EastWest Bank.
The LGU of Buenavista, headed by Mayor Joselito T. Roble, provided a range of free services, including medical check-ups and medicines, birth and death registration, COMELEC voter registration, distribution of seedlings, anti-rabies vaccination, and many more.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble congratulated DepEd for the successful Brigada Eskwela Kick-off. He expressed his gratitude for selecting Barangay Simbalan as the beneficiary of the 2-classroom project funded by Governor Angel Amante.
“Nindot kaayo tan-awn nga klase-klase nga ahensya nagkahiusa aron maabot ang serbisyo sa katawhan sa Simbalan,” he said. He further added,
“Kami, uban sa akong konseho, andam molihok ug maningkamot nga moabot ang serbisyo kaninyo.”
Meanwhile, Governor Angel Amante highlighted the vital role of parental support in children’s education:
“Ang inyong pag-anhi diri naa nay kalambigit sa atong kaugmaon sa atong mga anak. Obligasyon nato nga i-monitor kung tinuod ba nga nag-eskwela ang atong mga anak.”
Over 600 beneficiaries received free services from LGU Buenavista, including a 5-kg sack of rice and packed lunch.
The event was attended by Fr. Jean Pascal Ebonda of CICM, SP member Hon. Rudolfo Pitogo, Datu Haide “Bawang” Ampiyawan, SB members, SK Chairpersons, Barangay Simbalan officials, IP representatives of Buenavista, Assistant SDS Hector Macalalag, PSDS Adelaida S. Pacon, SGOD Chief Ms. Glorina L. Siclon, school principals, and various stakeholders.
