June 19, 2025 | Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara led the energization of Datu Saldong Domino Elementary School in Sitio Tagpangi, Brgy. Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Mr. Juan Eugenio L. Roxas, CEO and President of Misamis Power Corporation and donor of the energization project, expressed his gratitude to National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Adm. Antonio Mariano C. Almeda and ANECO, who reached out for assistance. โ€œWe are deeply honored to help the community, especially Sitio Tagpangiโ€”the last sitio of Buenavista,โ€ Roxas shared.

Meanwhile, Mayor Joselito T. Roble warmly expressed his appreciation to the distinguished guests. โ€œBuenas kaayo ta kay naa tay bisita gikan sa Nationalโ€”Senator Juan Edgardo โ€˜Sonnyโ€™ Angara and NEA Administrator Almeda,โ€ he said. Mayor Roble announced that Datu Saldong Domino Elementary School had received solar panels and that 40 households would also benefit from the electrification. He also reported that the classrooms had been renovated and committed to completing the construction of the schoolโ€™s covered court within the year.

Senator Angara extended his gratitude on behalf of the Department of Education (DepEd) to the sponsors for prioritizing schools in need. โ€œWe are fortunate that our President supports energization efforts across the nation. I hope many children will be helped to finish their education,โ€ he said.

NEA Administrator Antonio Almeda emphasized that the project aligns with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s vision of achieving 100% electrification by 2028. โ€œKami sa gobyerno, hindi tumitigil na mabigyan ng ilaw ang bawat sulok ng bansa,โ€ he said. โ€œI hope we can improve lives through education.โ€

Governor Angel Amante expressed pride in the project, while Congressman Dale B. Corvera remarked, โ€œDili lang paghatag ug kalamdag sa kahayag ang ihatag, kundi pati na sab kalamdag sa kaugmaon sa kabataan.โ€

DepEd distributed 40 school bags containing school supplies and emergency kits. UNICEF and ANECO also donated laptops, tablets, and Starlink internet connectivity to the students.

The event was attended by Usec. Peter Irving Corvera, Usec. Trygve Olaivar, PNP, 23rd IB, ADN1st PMFC, and other distinguished guests.
