July 7, 2025 | The Municipality of Buenavista officially launched the 51st Nutrition Month Celebration today at the Buenavista SPED-ES Covered Court.
SB Member and Chairman of the Committee on Health proudly shared that Buenavista has been awarded the Green Banner Award in nutrition, thanks to the dedication of Ms. Laura Balbutin, the Municipal Nutrition Officer, and all barangay nutrition scholars.
Meanwhile, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ramoet Tobias M. Racho emphasized that nutrition and immunization are top priorities in the municipalityโs health agenda. He also encouraged mothers to breastfeed their babies, especially during the crucial first 1,000 days.
Municipal Administrator Atty. Juselle Tricia S. Roble delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Roble. She announced that LGU Buenavista has allocated a budget of โฑ8 million for Calendar Year 2026 for the construction of a dedicated Nutrition Office, Traffic Management Office, and Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).

MDRRM Officer Mr. Eleazer A. Sabandal also advocated for the importance of nutrition as a form of silent risk reduction, emphasizing that proper nutrition helps prevent stunting, weak immunity, and decreased productivity.
Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Adelaida S. Pacon announced plans to revive the feeding program using kalabasa (squash) and kamunggay (malunggay), in partnership with barangay nutrition scholars. This initiative aims to help keep students energized and attentive during classes.
The event began with a motorcade participated in by BFP, MDRRMO, and PNP vehicles. Also in attendance were LGU department heads, DepEd teachers, students, the new COMELEC Officer III Ms. Maria Lutgarda D. Estrada, and the SPED High School Drum and Lyre Corps.
