August 6, 2025 | Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante led the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for the Inter-Local Agency Partnership (ILAP) for Friends Rescued (FRs) housing projects located in Sitio Talag-anahaw, Brgy. Talo-ao, Buenavista, and New Hope Village, Brgy. Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble expressed his gratitude to the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) for the additional β±10 million fund, which will be used to construct 20 two-storey housing units to accommodate 40 households. He mentioned that the initial 10 units, which will house 20 households, are almost completed. Mayor Roble also thanked Gov. Angel for her full support to the FRs and the Armed Forces for providing manpower during construction.
Mayor Roble proudly shared that the FRs in Buenavista contributed to maintaining peace during the Tortosa Festival and are also part of the Mayorβs Action Team in handling Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and anti-drug campaigns.
Meanwhile, Mayor Judy C. Amante of Cabadbaran City also extended her gratitude for the additional β±5 million allocated for the FR housing project in her area. She reminded the beneficiaries to take good care of the houses, saying not everyone is given such an opportunity.
Provincial Engineer Renato M. Corvera shared that the subdivision plan includes 128 lots in Sitio Talag-anahaw, Brgy. Talo-ao, and 112 lots in Cabadbaran City.
PENRO Forester Adelaida R. Borja pledged to donate confiscated materials for house construction. TESDA Provincial Director Rey M. Cueva assured that FRs will undergo skills training for livelihood. ANECO General Manager Darwin T. Damiel committed to sponsoring the electrical wiring and supporting future government programs.
Congressman Dale B. Corvera, represented by Mr. Orensio S. Corvera, pledged β±500,000 in seed capital from the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) to help FR beneficiaries start their own businesses. He also shared plans to include them in TUPAD and tap other agencies such as DHSUD and NHA for further assistance.
Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante reassured all FRs of her continuous support: βSamtang buhi pa ko, tabangan gyud mo nako aron makabarog mo pag-usab. Sultii lang mi kung unsa inyong gikinahanglan.β
FR beneficiaries, Mr. Benidos and Mr. Tejano, expressed their heartfelt gratitude: βDili sayang among pagsurender. Dakong kadaugan ug dakong hagit nga mahimong saksi sa among kanhing kauban nga manaog na, kay natagamtaman na nato ang gobyerno.β
The event was attended by personnel from the 52nd Engineer Brigade, 402nd IB, 901st IB, 29th IB, 23rd IB, PNP, BFP, Brgy. Talo-ao officials, and Brgy. Del Pilar officials.
