To strengthen its vision of becoming a progressive community, the Department of Science and Technology Agusan del Norte (DOST Agusan del Norte), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Buenavista, spearheaded a three-day Gap Assessment and Design Thinking Workshop for the Development of the Smart and Sustainable Community (SSC) Roadmap from February 19-21, 2025, at Fortezza de Paula, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.
The activity brought together members of the Technical Working Group (TWG), composed of LGU department representatives, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Gawad Kalinga, and DOST regional and provincial offices.
Through the workshops conducted, the TWG identified key gaps and collaboratively ideated solutions to address the challenges, laying the groundwork for a responsive and forward-looking SSC Roadmap tailored to Buenavistaโs needs.
This activity forms part of DOSTโs Smart and Sustainable Communities Program, which seeks to drive the development of communities into smart, sustainable, resilient, and inclusive spaces through a people-centric and technology-driven approach.
