May 16, 2025 |Beneficiaries from four barangays converge for the Project Turn-over of LAWA at BINHI at the Municipal Gymnasium today.

The beneficiaries were from Brgy. Malpoc – 110, Brgy. Macalang – 110, Brgy. Guinabsan – 110 and Brgy. Sangay – 120.

The Project LAWA at BINHI is a DSWD initiative aimed at strengthening the climate resilience of vulnerable communities. It focuses on Local Adaptation to Water Access (LAWA) and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (BINHI), addressing water scarcity and food insecurity. The project uses Cash-for-Training and Cash-for-Work to empower communities with skills and resources to adapt to climate change and improve their livelihoods.

Mayor Joselito T. Roble, represented by Atty. Juselle Tricia S. Roble, expressed his gratitude to DSWD, for consistently bringing projects and programs that help uplift the lives of individuals in need. “Nalipay kita nga upat (4) ka barangay sa atong lungsod ang naka dawat og benepisyo. Dili lang proyekto ang ilang makuha kundi matag benepisyaryo, makadawat sila og tag Php 7,700 isip suporta sa ilang pag apil sa training ug trabaho.”

MENRO designate, Ms. Rhea M. Luangco, presented the plans of the four barangays involved in the project. She assured that she would monitor their progress to help ensure its success.

The activity was attended by DSWD RO representative Ms. Alicia T. Marquiso; Jeanette V. Aboloc of PLGU ADN; MSWD VAWC Focal Person Ms. Ophelia Igdamin; DSWD PDO Ms. Karen Louise Nietes; MSWD staff member Ms. Jeany Lou Tindoy; and the Barangay Captain of Macalang, Hon. Sherly Edoc.
