February 5, 2025 | Municipal Mayor Hon. Joselito T. Roble led the turnover ceremony and signing of the Deed of Donation of two (2) transport vehicles to 23rd Infantry Battalion and 402nd Brigade of the Philippine Army.
Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Ramon A.G. Bungabong in his welcome message, said “dihang gi endorso ni Mayor and pag donate sa mao nga mga transport vehicle, paspas pa sa kilat gi aksyonan sa membro sa konseho aron mapatuman ang maong laraw.” VM Rambu added, “I have great respect for our armed personnel because they are the ones protecting our people.”
Mayor Roble said that the donation is an expression of gratitude to the Philippine Army, particularly the 402nd Brigade and the 23rd IB stationed at Brgy Alubihid, for preserving the peace and reducing insurgency. He added, “Rest assured that I, the Vice Mayor, and the Sangguniang Bayan members will give our 100% support to you.”
The 23rd IB headed by LTC Chris C. Baloran received one unit Toyota Hilux Army transport, while the 402nd Brigade represented by Col. Emil J. Cruz (MNSA) received one unit Isuzu Army transport vehicle.
23rd IB Commander LTC Baloran, in his acceptance message, said, “On behalf of the armed forces, we humbly thank Mayor Roble, Vice Mayor Bungabong, and the SB Members for approving our request. This is a great help for our operations and administrative work.” He added, “We thank you for your unwavering support, and we promise to take good care of the new Toyota Hilux Army transport vehicle.”
402nd Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Cruz accepted the Isuzu Army truck, noting that it would greatly aid their civil-military activities, including the transportation of youth leaders, former rebels, and others. “Rest assured, we will continue to provide honest and quality service to you.”
MLGOO Yul O. Guerta remarked that this donation is a sort of token of appreciation from the LGU of Buenavista to the armed forces for keeping the municipality insurgency-free. He added that, as far as he can recall, this is the first time a municipality has donated vehicles to the Philippine Army.
