March 3, 2025 | Municipal Mayor Joselito T. Roble solemnized the union of 20 couples during the Kasalan ng Bayan at the 23rd Infantry Battalion Headquarters, Jamboree Site, Brgy. Alubijid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. The occasion marked the 42nd Founding Anniversary of the 23rd “Masigasig” Battalion.
The unions consisted of two (2) enlisted personnel, five (5) civilians, seven (7) rescued friends, and six (6) CAFGU Active Auxiliaries.
23rd IB Lt. Col. Chris C. Baloran warmly welcomed the couples and their families, wishing them a happy and fulfilling life. He encouraged them to embrace lifelong challenges with more patience, understanding, and a willingness to uphold the values of loyalty, peace, and love.
Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Ramon A.G. Bungabong shared an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of peace in love. “Di mabat-unan ang kalinaw ug walay gugma”.
Local Civil Registrar Officer Ms. Teresita K. Valdehueza thanked the 23rd Infantry Battalion for their continuous initiative in holding the Kasalan ng Bayan during their founding anniversary. With this, 27 children will be legitimized. The LGU, through the LCR office, provided free processing of CENOMAR, 25 kg of rice, cakes, and a food buffet dinner.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble gladly solemnized the couples at the 23rd IB. “Nalipay ko nagtan-aw nga atong mga former rebels nagbalik-loob na. You all deserve a second chance. I hope dili na mautro ang kagubot”. Mayor Roble encouraged all couples to always seek guidance from the Lord to build a peaceful and harmonious marriage. Lastly, Mayor Roble, together with Vice Mayor Rambu and Sangguniang Bayan members, gave P5,000 per couple as a wedding gift.
The event was also graced by Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Ronilyn N. Borja, Hon. Bernardo S. Galapin, Hon. Rianne S. Catabas, Hon. Angelita D. Cadeliรฑa, Hon. Maribel M. Balansag, Hon. Lucia E. Jundis, Hon. Virgilio D. Cadeniag Jr., and Atty. Gene Esteban S. Prisco.
