March 20, 2025 | Women in Buenavista showcased their festive attires in celebration of Women’s Month today with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sector, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas” at Brgy. 8, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Free services were offered to all women, including free haircuts, medical check-ups, and medicines.

Mayor Joselito T. Roble delivered an inspirational message emphasizing the importance of women in the community. “I hope magkahiusa ang tanan kababainhan sa tanan komyunidad. I hope dili na mag-watak-watak ang mga kababainhan.”

Afterward, Mayor Roble swore in all local women’s association officers and presented roses to all the women.

The celebration was further enlivened when Mayor Roble doubled the prizes of the competition. The following are the winners:

Tribal Dance Competition:

3rd place: Solo Parents (P6,000)

2nd place: Brgy. 3 (P10,000)

1st place: Simbalan IPs (P16,000)

Best in Tribal Group Attire:

3rd place: Brgy. 3 (P4,000)

2nd place: Brgy. Sangay (P6,000)

1st place: Brgy. Alubijid (P10,000)

Best in Individual Attire:

3rd place: P1,600

2nd place: P2,000

1st place: P3,000

The event was attended by Sangguniang Bayan members, Barangay Captains, national line agencies, Supervising Coordinator in Caraga Ms. Marites Serrano, the IP women’s community, and the Badjao women’s community.
