June 10, 2024 | Two multi-million projects completed ahead of time and within budget were turned-over by the contractor and inaugurated in a multi-party ceremony at the Municipal Public Market.

The parties included LGU Buenavista, led by Mayor Joselito T. Roble, Provincial Governor Hon. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, represented by Ms. Elizabeth Calo, and a representative of JPS Construction. Municipal Engr. Lilian Bokingo read the project profile that included a building with 28 stalls for fruits and vegetables, 2 washing areas, a public toilet, covered concrete drainage, and the concreting of pathways. On the other hand, STP Facility was funded by the Office of the Provincial Governor. The main treatment equipment was imported from Japan.
Project timelines: Phase 2 project started in September 22, 2023 and completed on May 10, 2024, a total of 231 days, instead of the contracted time of completion of 240 calendar days. While the STP project was started in October 5, 2023 and completed last April 5, 2024. Both projects are 100% complete.

Mayor Joselito T. Roble expressed his gratitude to Governor Ma. Angelica M. Amante for the unwavering support to the Municipality of Buenavista. In his speech, he remembered his promise during the State of the Municipality Address (SOMA) in January โ€œthat the phase 2 and STP are 60% complete, and now they are finally complete.โ€ He explained the importance of the STP facility. ‘Kini nga teknolohiya maoy mo treat sa atong mga wastewater na gikan sa pag limpyo sa karne ug isda. Tanggalon niya ang bacteria aron dili na ma contaminate ang dagat nga maoy paingnan sa tubig gikan sa STP.โ€ He added that the public market is his top priority. “Tumanon gyud nako akong mga saad sauna.” He hopes that the market vendors will help maintain the cleanliness of the public market.

The Provincial Administrator, Ms. Elizabeth Marie R. Calo, on behalf of Gov. Angel Amante, said โ€œthis is the first municipality in Agusan del Norte, I think the whole of Caraga, to have a sewage treatment plant facility. Magpasalamat ta sa inyong maabtik nga Mayor sa pagkugi ug kuha’g funds para ani nga project ug uban pang projects.โ€ She said, โ€œGovernor Angel Amante will continue to help and support the people of Buenavista.โ€
The event was graced by Sangguniang Bayan members, LGU Department Heads, and officers and members of the market vendors association.
